What area does Prolec Automation cover?

Prolec Automation proudly services the entire North Island. While we're based in East Tamaki, Auckland, our technicians are fully mobile and ready to travel to your site to assist with any electrical or automation issues you may have.

Are quotations free?

Our basic quotations are free and include site visits. However, if the project involves detailed design work or complex machinery, a nominal fee may apply to cover the additional time required for the quotation.

Is Prolec a registered company?

Prolec Automation and Electrical Services is a fully bonified company with all of the appropriate insurances in place.

What types or brands of PLC systems can Prolec program and support?

Prolec Automation specializes in programming and supporting Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens PLC systems. In addition, our experienced technicians are proficient with a wide range of other major PLC brands, ensuring we can meet the needs of most industrial and automation environments across the board.

Can Prolec build and integrate an HMI (Human Machine Interface) system?

Yes, Prolec Automation can design, build, and fully integrate HMI systems tailored to your specific process control requirements. We begin by evaluating your existing control system to develop an intuitive operator interface that delivers real-time data acquisition, clear process visualization, and a customized graphics package. Our solutions are designed to enhance usability, improve efficiency, and ensure seamless communication between operators and machinery.

Does Prolec do domestic work?

Prolec Automation focuses exclusively on industrial and commercial electrical and automation services. While domestic work is not part of our core offering, we’re always open to discussing unique projects on a case-by-case basis.

Can Prolec issue a certificate of compliance?

Yes, we can. All of our electrical tradespeople are registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) and hold current practicing licenses, enabling us to issue Certificates of Compliance in accordance with New Zealand electrical regulations.

How many electricians does Prolec have?

Prolec’s Auckland branch is staffed with a skilled team that includes six qualified electricians—three of whom are also automation engineers—a mechanical engineer, and an electrical engineer who oversees all system design and technical drawings. We also have one apprentice currently in training. Our team is fully equipped to provide comprehensive field service and support across the North Island, delivering industrial and commercial electrical and automation solutions on-site.

Does Prolec do PAT testing?

Yes, Prolec provides a complete Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) service, including thorough inspection, testing, and detailed record keeping to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
